A side street just down the road from me in Manchester. I had to take a few pictures to use up the roll of film on those Bradford shots, so thought this would do nicely :)
BD17 represent! When we walked past this sign, I couldn’t resist taking a snap - I used to see this sign pretty much every day when I grew up in Baildon. I always get a bit nostalgic when I see ‘Farndale Road’ listed on there…
Another one from the Bradford set - the fairly basic, two word sign on the side of the Ice Skating rink has always illuminated Bradford’s skyline for as long as I can remember.
As a child, I often used to see it, lurching into the clouds like a giant monolith, and wondering what it was or why Ice Skating of all things was a more Bradfordian thing to do than anything else :) To it’s credit, it has outlasted a hell of a lot of other things in the city, and if it ever goes, I think a small, obscure part of my childhood will go with it.
a dead signpost on kirkstall road.
whenever i walk to work, i always walk past these signs that litter the side of the pavement. they are for a wild flower garden that doesn’t exist anymore, but the signs are all still there, pointing towards nothing, hiding in amongst the overgrown grass.
